THE TRAINING DEPARTMENT OF THE MINISTRY OF PUBLIC SECURITY PRESIDES OVER THE LAUNCH OF THE ‘TREE PLANTING FESTIVAL FOR A GREEN VIETNAM’ 2026 AT NGOA VAN SACRED SITE
On the morning of March 14, 2026, at Ngoa Van Am Pagoda Special National Relic Site (Quang Ninh), the Training Department of the Ministry of Public Security presided over and coordinated with relevant units to solemnly organize the Launching Ceremony of the “Tree Planting Festival for a Green Vietnam” 2026.
The program was carried out with the aim of widely promoting the noble traditional values initiated during the lifetime of President Ho Chi Minh, while also engraving his sacred teaching: “Spring is the season for tree planting, making the country increasingly prosperous and vibrant.” The event was attended by leaders of the Training Department, representatives of various agencies, along with a large number of officers, soldiers, and youth union members.

Opening Speech: Inspiring Responsibility and Dedication
At the beginning of the program, Lieutenant General Tran Minh Le, Director of the Training Department, delivered the opening speech. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of tree planting and forest development for the nation’s sustainable growth, while affirming the pioneering role of the People’s Public Security forces in preserving the landscape of historical relic sites and protecting biodiversity. The speech officially conveyed the determination of the entire force to implement the goal of “greening” the Ngoa Van heritage area.

Following the program, Captain Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the Training Department – Ministry of Public Security, delivered a speech in response to the tree-planting movement for a green environment.
Incense Offering Ceremony: Reverence and Gratitude to Ancestors
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the delegation solemnly performed an incense offering and Buddhist ritual at Ngoa Van Am Pagoda. Amid the lingering fragrance of incense at this sacred site associated with the spiritual practice and enlightenment of King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong, delegates, officers, and soldiers respectfully offered incense in remembrance of the merits of the ancestors. This ritual, conducted prior to field activities, not only reflected the tradition of “remembering the source of the water we drink” but also strengthened spiritual resolve, inspiring the delegation in their mission to preserve and promote heritage values.

Tree Planting Activity: Sowing Green Seeds for the Nation’s Future
Continuing the program, the delegation, along with officers and soldiers, moved to the Ngoa Van Am Pagoda area and the path leading to Ban Co Tien Peak to carry out practical tree-planting activities. Notably, Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet – Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha – directly joined Lieutenant General Tran Minh Le and other delegates in planting and nurturing new green saplings.

The image of venerable monks, the People’s Public Security forces, and coordinating units working together to care for trees amid the majestic mountains and forests of Ngoa Van has become a beautiful symbol of the harmony between Buddhism and the nation. Planting trees in the upper mountainous area contributes to improving the green, clean, and beautiful landscape of the relic site, while also profoundly educating the younger generation about environmental protection.
The event concluded in a joyful and fulfilling atmosphere, successfully achieving all set objectives. The Launching Ceremony of the “Tree Planting Festival for a Green Vietnam” 2026 organized by the Training Department of the Ministry of Public Security, together with relevant units, strongly affirmed a shared sense of responsibility toward environmental protection and a firm commitment to preserving a sustainable green future for the homeland and the country.
