Zen Garden

Zen Garden

The Zen Garden is an open space located just behind the Tam Quan gate, arranged in a circular layout with a statue of a little monk standing with palms together at the center. Surrounding the statue, stones are laid out and decorated in concentric circles. Two pathways are designed as arcs on either side, leading from the Tam Quan gate to the main hall. Above the pathways, glass canopies are installed, combined with bamboo and rattan elements. The Zen Courtyard is a space suitable for organizing activities such as Zen tea ceremonies and Zen chanting, offering an open environment that fosters connection and harmony with nature.

Lan Trần Mộng

Lan Trần Mộng

**Lan Trần Mộng** – The orchid is named “Trần Mộng” because of a story about King Trần Nhân Tông, who once dreamed of a rare orchid with beautiful reddish-pink flowers and a captivating fragrance. Remarkably, upon waking, the king was informed that someone had brought a precious orchid to the royal palace. When presented, it was exactly the same orchid as in his dream. When the king asked about its name, the giver politely explained that it was a precious orchid and requested the king to give it a fitting name. The king then recounted his dream and declared that the orchid should be called “Trần Mộng.”

Experience Trúc Lâm Woodblock Printing

Experience Trúc Lâm Woodblock Printing

During the Ngọa Vân Cultural Heritage Week, the Trúc Lâm woodblock printing activity was organized as a hands-on approach to experiencing heritage. Visitors had the opportunity to work directly with woodblocks, ink, and xuân chỉ paper—materials historically used for copying Buddhist scriptures and paintings. The printing process proceeds slowly, requiring careful attention and close observation at each step. Through this experience, participants can gain a clearer understanding of traditional printing techniques and the role of woodblocks in the religious and cultural life of the Trúc Lâm period.

Awakening

Awakening

The artwork is made from thousands of bamboo tubes suspended like silent wind chimes. When the breeze passes through, a deep, wooden resonance emerges—not to stir, but to remind us to pause. Immersed in the simple sounds of bamboo, one can perceive the Emptiness of all phenomena—in the hollow body of the bamboo—where every sound dissolves into silence.

Peace Bridge

Peace Bridge

Inspired by the Ensō circle (円相) – a symbol of completeness and perfection. The artwork aims to evoke the memory of an extraordinary figure of the nation who attained Nirvana here. It is installed at the current location of the PEACE BRIDGE. Building on the existing circular wooden railing and corridor, the red-painted bamboo structures will be extended to form a taller circle, creating a focal point in the vast space behind.
