A CULTURAL HERITAGE JOURNEY TO NGOA VAN BY THE FACULTY AND STUDENTS OF HANOI UNIVERSITY OF CULTURE

On January 31, 2026, over 200 students and teachers from the Faculty of Tourism Management and International Languages - Hanoi University of Culture had a highly meaningful field trip to the sacred mountain of Ngoa Van. This was not merely an educational trip, but also a journey back to the sacred ancestral land to calm their minds amidst majestic nature.

The first stop on the journey was the Bamboo House. In the fresh air of the mountains and forests, the delegation led by Dr. Le Tuan Anh and Dr. Pham Thi Hai Yen gathered together to listen to sharing about the historical and cultural values of this land.

Here, the writing contest themed "Ngoa Van in Me" was officially launched. This is an opportunity for students to record their genuine emotions and personal perspectives on their journey back to the realm of tranquility.

Offering incense at Phu Am Tra - A moment of spiritual connection

Continuing the journey, the delegation offered incense at Phu Am Tra. Amidst the serene space of Ngoa Van's mountains and forests, every footstep seemed to slow down, and every breath felt lighter.
This was the time for the teachers and students of the University of Culture to grant themselves a moment of quiet contemplation, listening to their inner selves, and deeply connecting with traditional spiritual values.

Offering incense and paying homage to the Buddha at Ngoa Van Hermitage - Pagoda 

The delegation continued moving up to Ngoa transform into Ngoa Van Hermitage - Pagoda, a place closely associated with the final days and the Buddhahood attainment of King Tran Nhan Tong. Every stick of incense offered from the heart not only expressed reverence but was also a profound tribute to the king who renounced his throne to seek the path of enlightenment.

Standing amidst the sacred high mountains helped the students learn to let go of the noise of modern life and nurture wholesome seeds within their souls.

Entrusting wishes through the peace silk ribbons

One of the most touching activities at the Hermitage - Pagoda was writing on the wishing silk ribbons. Each ribbon carried simple hopes: family peace, favorable studies, a bright future... The carefully written words swaying in the Ngoa Van mountain breeze served as a sincere message to heaven and earth, bringing a sense of peace and hope to the participants.

Discovering the majestic beauty of the Bai Da Chong Relic Site

The journey concluded with an exploration of the Bai Da Chong (Stacked Rocks) Relic Site. The giant rocks naturally stacked on top of one another created a majestic yet mysterious landscape.

Here, the students not only admired the beauty of pristine nature but also felt more clearly the historical value of the Ngoa Van monument complex - an impressive stop for a complete field trip.

The field trip to Ngoa Van not only enriched their professional knowledge of tourism and languages but was also a great lesson in life values. Leaving the city behind, over 200 students brought back in their hearts a touch of tranquility, a bit of peace, and pride in the spirit of their ancestors at the sacred mountain of Ngoa Van.
