Impressive special activities at the Ngoa Van Spring Festival 2024.

In 2024, the Ngoa Van Spring Festival will be held on February 18th (lunar calendar: the 9th day of the first lunar month, Year of the Rat) at the Cable Car Station, Trai Loc Hamlet, An Sinh Commune, Dong Trieu Town, Quang Ninh Province.

According to information from the People's Committee of Dong Trieu Town, apart from the solemn ritual ceremonies, the event will also feature a festival with numerous cultural and artistic activities, sports events, and unique traditional games, all taking place at the cable car station area.

For the first time at the Ngoa Van Spring Festival in 2024, there was the appearance of the Vietnam Vovinam Federation, combined with a grand drum performance and a chorus singing the epic song "The Chronicle of Buddhism King Tran Nhan Tong," aiming to create a lively and vibrant atmosphere for pilgrims returning to the land of Ngoa Van.

Additionally, the People's Committee of Dong Trieu Town directed the Management Board of the Tran Dynasty Heritage Site, the Town's Cultural and Communication Center, to collaborate with Ngoa Van - Yen Tu Cultural Tourism Joint Stock Company in organizing and implementing activities to promote unity and harness the strength of the nation, such as local food and agricultural product fairs, Ngoa Van Spring folk music festivals, and folk game exchanges.

The Xuan Ngoa Van Festival has become an annual traditional festival at the beginning of spring in Dong Trieu and extends throughout the third lunar month. This cultural event holds profound humanitarian values, focusing on roots and origins. It is an occasion for people, Buddhists, and pilgrims to visit Ngoa Van - the "Holy Land" of the Truc Lam Zen sect in Vietnam, to offer incense, pay homage, and express gratitude for the great merit of King Tran Nhan Tong, honoring the philosophical values of the Truc Lam Zen sect.

At the sacred place of Am Ngoa Van, embarking on a pilgrimage to Mount Bao Dai to offer incense and pay respects to King Tran Nhan Tong, praying for peace in the new year, marks a memorable milestone for every family in the early days of the year.

The Am Ngoa Van relic complex is situated on the high mountain of Bao Dai Son in the western part of the Yen Tu mountain range, adjacent to Dong Trieu, specifically located in Trai Loc hamlet, An Sinh commune, Dong Trieu township. Am Ngoa Van is a sacred site of the Truc Lam Buddhist sect, where King Tran Nhan Tong, known as King Buddha Tran Nhan Tong, practiced meditation and attained Buddhahood.

Am Ngoa Van is one of the 14 important historical sites within the Tran Dynasty relic complex in Dong Trieu, classified as a Special National Historical Monument by the Prime Minister of Vietnam under Decision No. 2383/QD-TTg dated December 9, 2013.

Recognizing the significant values of the "Holy Land" of Truc Lam Buddhism, in recent years, the township has collaborated closely with the Provincial Buddhist Executive Committee of Vietnam to concentrate efforts and effectively mobilize resources for investment, restoration, and enhancement of the Ngoa Van relic site and the Special National Historical Monument of the Tran Dynasty in Dong Trieu, in accordance with the approved comprehensive planning by the Prime Minister.
