NGOA VAN FIRST FULL MOON FESTIVAL 2026: ILLUMINATING THE SACRED HERITAGE PEAK

Trần Việt Thành 31/07/2026

In the Vietnamese consciousness, the Thuong Nguyen Festival (First Full Moon Festival) is not only the beginning of a new year but also the most sacred moment for each person to seek inner peace. Amidst the myriad clouds of Bao Dai Mountain, where Buddhist Emperor Tran Nhan Tong attained Buddhahood, the 2026 Thuong Nguyen Grand Ceremony at Ngoa Van will be an emotional journey of offering incense, paying respects to the Buddha, and offering lanterns, where the sincere devotion of every Buddhist is witnessed amidst a heritage land radiant with the colors of spring.

Detailed program content

This year's journey to welcome the Thuong Nguyen Festival is harmoniously designed, taking visitors from solemn ceremonies to moments of brilliant culmination:

Incense offering ceremony and spiritual connection

The journey begins with the incense offering ceremony and paying homage to the Buddha at Ngoa Van Hermitage - Pagoda. This is the convergence point of the sacred energy of the Truc Lam Zen lineage, where Buddhist Emperor Tran Nhan Tong attained Buddhahood. In the tranquil space of the mountains and forests, every stick of incense offered from the heart is a prayer for peace and serenity.

Savoring signature cuisine at Ngoa Van Kitchen

After the ceremony, visitors will enjoy dishes imbued with the flavors of the heritage land at Ngoa Van Vegetarian Kitchen. The wholesome, warm vegetarian dishes amidst the spring weather will help you recharge for the subsequent activities.

Art program and Lantern Offering Ritual

The focal point of the Grand Ceremony begins at 6:00 PM with a special art program welcoming the new spring. Following the solemn speeches of the guests, the Ngoa Van space will become magically shimmering with the traditional spiritual ritual and Lantern Offering. Thousands of lanterns will be lit, carrying heartfelt prayers for national peace and prosperity, family well-being, and a smooth, auspicious new year in all endeavors.

Concluding the grand ceremony night is a brilliant fireworks display illuminating the night sky over Ngoa Van. The light of the fireworks blending with the glow of the lotus lanterns creates a magnificent scene, promising a new year full of hope and positive energy.
