Ngoa Van Shrine is constructed with bricks, featuring a vaulted roof also made of bricks. Facing south, it has an entrance with the inscription "Ngoa Van Am" in Chinese characters, meaning Am Ngoa Van. According to legend, when the Buddhism King entered Nirvana, he lay in a lion posture on a large rock, which is called Da Niet Ban. Historical documents from the Tran dynasty record that the Ngoa Van Pagoda grounds previously only had Da Niet Ban, the Ngoa Van Pagoda, two towers, and stone steles. Therefore, Am Ngoa Van today may have been built on the original site of Da Niet Ban, where the Buddhism King entered Nirvana.
